16 km, 360 m high, 360 m down

In Leenaun, we had 2 nights and hiked a day off the Western Way on Wednesday. To stay 2 nights in Leenaun was great but more on that later.

A taxi driver picked us up in the morning and drove us to the tiny port of Rosroe where our short day trip started. Hardly there arrived, it started to poor dow. Well, that’s familar to us. It was only short lasting showers, the second half of the hike was dry and sunny.

Ireland ist he place where weather happens! I like it: wind and rain, black clouds, sun peaking through, painting bright patches in the landscape. How boring is a clear blue sky.

Our accommodation was something special, so we enjoyed staying two nights: an old convent. Today, the chapel serves as the breakfast room.
